ITEM EXPLANATION
REGION OF ORIGIN : Vietnam.

CONDITION : Good considering the age. Used.
There are some chips on the rim. But it can not be helped. because this is an old item. And I think that it is not a problem for decorate.
AGE : Unknown.
I'm not familiar with foreign antiques. So, I do not know the correct age of this item. But this seems not new. I think this is a serious product.
MATERIAL : Porcelain of AN-NAN.
AN-NAN means Vietnam in Japanese. And we call an old Vietnamese pottery as AN-NAN, too. It resembles Chinese pottery style. But AN-NAN has the different characterful work and style from Chinese style. So, AN-NAN style is loved by many antique fans. In especially tea utensils, it is popular.
TYPE : Tea bowl for tea ceremony
Such a flat tea bowl is called HIRA-CHAWAN or NATSU-CHAWAN and uses it mainly in summer.
ABOUT WORK
AN-NAN is mostly blue-and-white porcelain. But this is colored porcelain with good painting. And all of the glaze tone, use of color and bottom clay, etc are appropriate AN-NAN. It's never an imitation. This is the serious old Southeast Asian porcelain tea bowl
