ANTIQUE THAI CARVED BETEL NUT LIME STICK ARTIFACT

Description

Antique Thai Carved Lime Stick.  This is one of the most beautiful examples I have ever seen, and Thai folk culture is abundant in beauty: The figure is carved separately and exquisitely, a miniature sculptural masterpiece, and then attached/glued to the actual metal lime stick itself. The carving is that of a seated Thai male in traditional grab.  The glue material is still visible in the lower parts of the piece, and is NOT discoloration nor is it recent.
Rich and deep patina, suggesting that it is quite old, the figure was dipped in lacquer to enhance its almost life-like, realistic rendering.
Fine.  The stick itself has thick oxidation.  No contemporary repair.
Regular size:  2.5 inches (height) X 1.5 inches (width).
